DAO Joins Volunteer Medics Worldwide
DAO will be in charge of supply acquisition for VMW & has already provided a large amount of medical & surgical supplies. In April, 2010, Doc G, a field medic, visited DAO. Doc G works to recruit young people away from the Taliban in Afghanistan by providing humanitarian aid and medical care. We are pleased to support his efforts.

His next trip is to Haiti delivering prosthetics and orthopedic equipment DAO has collected since the quake. Doc G, a retired Marine, is also a pilot and flies air missions. Prosthetic organisations and charities worldwide have warned of the huge task facing Haiti as it struggles to rehabilitate hundreds of thousands of amputees resulting from the island's earthquake.
Doctors say they are already struggling to cope with the sheer numbers of people needing amputations after being trapped in rubble. Some surgeons estimate that as many as 200,000 Haitians will end up losing one or more limbs.

DAO ACCEPTS BLANKETS FOR DISASTER RELIEF PROGRAMS.
DAO is now accepting blankets at each of its recycling drop-off locations. The blankets will be donated to relief organizations. DAO is now working closely with the Christian Emergency Network and plans to provide support for the program's disaster relief programs.
